Salary: £13,000 per annum
Hours: 2-3 days per month
Contract: 2 years fixed term contract
Base: HI KSS (trading as Health Innovation KSS) primary place of business is The Beehive, located in Gatwick/Crawley, West Sussex. We have further satellite / hot-desking arrangements at sites located in Guildford. This role will be remote with in-person Board meetings in London.

Job Purpose
To provide independent strategic oversight, insight and constructive challenge to the Board, while brining expertise in inward and impact investment, partnership development, and digital and AI-enabled healthcare innovation to support regional economic growth, improved health outcomes, and the effective translation of innovation into practice.
Key-Result Areas
· Contribute to the strategic direction and governance of Health Innovation Kent Surrey and Sussex.
· Provide independent judgement and constructive challenge to executive leadership.
· Use personal experience and networks to advise on inward investment opportunities, partnerships, and ecosystem development.
· Support the Board’s understanding of digital, data and AI and investment sector trends relevant to healthcare innovation and adoption.
· Act as an ambassador for Health Innovation KSS, strengthening relationships across investors, innovators, NHS organisations, academia and industry.
· Uphold the principles of good governance, public accountability, and responsible innovation.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE
Investment, Partnerships and Ecosystem Insight
· Senior experience in venture capital, impact investment, corporate investment, or scaling innovation-led organisations.
· Track record of supporting or enabling inward investment and strategic partnerships in healthcare, life sciences or technology.
· Strong networks across investment communities, healthcare organisations, academia and innovation ecosystems.
Digital, Data and AI in Healthcare
· Clear understanding of digital health, data platforms, AI/ML, or software-enabled healthcare innovation.
· Insight into evidence, regulation, data governance, and adoption pathways for AI in health.
Board-Level Contribution
· Clear understanding of digital health, data platforms, AI/ML, or software-enabled healthcare innovation.
· Insight into evidence, regulation, data governance, and adoption pathways for AI in health.
Skills and Capabilities
· Strategic thinking with the ability to link investment, innovation, and population health impact.
· Sound judgement and confidence to provide constructive challenge and balanced support.
· Ability to open networks and create partnership opportunities without executive responsibility for delivery.
· Credibility with senior investors, founders, clinicians, and system leaders.
· Commitment to responsible, equitable and ethical AI in Healthcare.

Generous holiday allowance
Our staff receive 33 days annual leave per year, pro rata, rising to 34 days after two-years service and 35 days after five-years service. In addition to that, you'll get to take the regular UK Bank Holidays.
If you happen to be a part-time worker you will receive an additional annual leave allowance for any Bank Holidays, which may fall on your regular non-working day too.
